About
Thirty years in, and still not standing on the sidelines
Daniel Erwin has spent over thirty years in the health and fitness industry, and the whole of it staying active himself rather than only telling other people to.
The résumé, briefly
Thirty years working in health and fitness. More than 115 triathlons. Two Ironman finishes. A long list of running races, and a longer one of adventure days that never had a finish line at all: canyons, trails, ridgelines, whatever was next.
None of that is here to impress you. It's here because it's the reason the coaching sounds the way it does. Daniel has been under-fueled at mile eighteen, gone down hard on desert rock, started over after time off, and had to work out how to keep doing this as the years added up. The advice comes from somewhere.

The philosophy
Life is meant to be lived, not spent standing on the sidelines.
That's the whole thing. Everything else (the programs, the tracking, the food guidance) exists to get people off the sidelines and back into whatever they actually want to be doing.
And it's worth being clear that what you want to be doing is yours to define. It is not a race time unless you want it to be.
What getting off the sidelines actually looks like
For the people Daniel works with, it usually looks like one of these:
- Having the strength to pick up your grandchildren and get down on the floor to play
- Going out for a weekend ride with friends or family and enjoying it rather than surviving it
- Hiking the Grand Canyon, and being in shape enough to look up while you do it
- Finishing a first marathon
- Simply feeling better day to day: steadier gut, better nutrition, fewer weeks lost to illness
That last one gets underrated. Most people don't arrive wanting a medal. They arrive wanting to stop feeling flat, sore and vaguely unwell, and wanting that to still be true in ten and twenty years, not just next month.
How Daniel coaches
- Small enough to hold. Better to keep one change for a year than run six for a month.
- Specific over general. Guidance built on what you actually ate and how you actually trained.
- Honest about the edges. Coaching isn't medicine. When something belongs with a doctor, he says so early.
- Present between sessions. The app exists so the coaching doesn't stop when the call ends.
On scope: Daniel is a health and wellness coach and fitness trainer, not a licensed medical provider, dietitian or therapist. He doesn't diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or interpret lab work.

Your health journey deserves direction.
The podcast
Daniel hosts Charting Your Path with Coach Daniel, conversations about the things that actually decide whether an active life sticks. Starting over, staying consistent, fueling properly, recovering well, and staying capable as the years add up.
Getting started
Most people start with a free discovery call. Fifteen minutes, not a sales call, and the honest outcome is sometimes that coaching isn't what you need right now. If you'd rather work it out yourself first, the program matcher takes two minutes.
